Buy a new transmission, or 3. Buy a re-conditioned transmission GM Holden gives you another, much better option, a Remanufactured Transmission. How to order a Transmission / Parts. TRANS PART NUMBER MODEL YEAR > All transmissions to be remanufactured are completely disassembled. > All obviously worn and mandatory replacement parts are scrapped. > All passed components are washed and de-greased at high pressure. > Quality control systems ensure that all retained parts are checked and those that don't make the grade are scraped. > All dimensions and tolerances are carefully checked. > Every valve body is checked and tested to ensure it meets manufacturer's specifications. > Sub assemblies and components are built, tested and moved to final assembly line. > All units are leak checked on line to ensure proper assembly of sub components. > All bolts are individually torqued to ensure proper clamp load and monitored with statistical process control to ensure continued accuracy. > Each and every Transmission must pass extensive Dynamometer tests to be 'approved for use' by the original manufacturer as a Remanufactured Transmission. > Each unit purchased & fitted by a Holden dealer is covered for both Parts & Labour Australia wide through the Holden Dealer network. > All transmissions are sent with fully traceable consignment notes. Every GM Holden Remanufactured Transmission includes the following new replacement parts - only Genuine GM Holden Parts are used. > All seals, o-rings, sealing rings and gaskets. > Oil pump vanes and rings. > All bearings, thrust races and washers. > All filters and screens. > Input carrier gear pins and bearings. > Output shaft snap ring. > Front seal retainer. > Magnet - chip collector. > All bands and friction plates. > Pump bolts and seals. > Case bush. > Converters - remanufactured to GM specifications. > All pistons with moulded seals. > Variable force motor and 3-2 control solenoid. > Valve body spacer plates. All solenoids are cleaned and tested for functionality - those that do not meet manufacturers specifications are replaced with new. All bushes that are out of manufacturers specifications are replaced with new OEM bushes. GM Holden Remanufactured Transmission warranty policy is applicable for 2 years or 50,000 km from the date of fitment, whichever comes first. When returning cores (as per “GM Remanufacturing Program Agreement 2016-06-14” and “Parts 2016R3589 - Core Return for GM Remanufacturing Programs”): > Ensure cores are packaged in a secure and environmentally safe manner for transport. > Ensure all cores are returned in a prompt manner to avoid processing delays. > Use care not to damage case. > Please drain as much oil as possible from the transmission cores before returning. > Reuse the shipping plugs and caps from the replacement transmission in the core. > Carefully repack the core in the same packaging that the replacement transmission arrived in, then send to the correct address. > If it’s a warranty claim, fill out the WPC form, attach it to the packaging, and ship to the address specified in the GWM system. > If it’s not a warranty claim, provide any customer complaints, vehicle information, symptoms, diagnosis, DTC’s that will help.
