Electric Parking Brake (EPB) One touch turn signal Electrostatic climate control With just the flick of a switch, your car is in park mode, making clumsy handbrakes ancient history. When you’re ready to get back on the road, EPB automatically disengages as you press the accelerator pedal as long as the driver seatbelt is fastened. With a gentle push of the turn indicator, HR-V indicates three times before automatically turning off. For continuous indication, just press until you feel it lock into place. Retractable mirrors with integrated LED side indicators LaneWatch camera LaneWatch Display When you’re breaking new ground, it’s handy to be able to see where you’re going. The HR-V provides a multi-angle reversing camera – normal view, wide view and top-down view – which all display conveniently on the screen in front of you. But the most ingenious camera angle of all is LaneWatch. Designed to minimise one of the most notorious blind spots for any vehicle, LaneWatch comes standard on the VTi-S and above. Mounted beneath your left-hand door mirror, the blind spot camera appears on screen from the first moment you signal left. When it comes to safety, HR-V has you covered. The integrated LED turn indicators not only look good but also stand out to others on the road so you’re more likely to be seen when making that turn. And when the car is parked, the side mirrors can conveniently retract with the push of the button (VTi-L only). Never again will you spend your time at the lights or stopped in traffic stepping on the brake pedal. Simply press the automatic Brake Hold button and the system will hold the HR-V in position without you having to step on the brake. Security alarm Motion Adaptive Electric Power Steering (MAEPS) You’ll see the envy in others’ eyes – just one of the reasons why Honda has equipped the VTi-S model and above with a security alarm. Perfection is worth protecting. Whiplash mitigating front seats Airbags The clever Honda i-SRS driver airbag system inflates at different rates depending on crash severity, seatbelt usage and a host of other factors to keep you safe behind the wheel. Dual front, side and fulllength curtain airbags are standard. In the event of a collision, the seatback springs are optimised so that the seat will more equally absorb the occupant’s impact. This has the potential to cleverly minimise the risk of a whiplash injury. Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) Occasionally the situation requires sudden, heavy braking. For the driver behind you, this creates an emergency situation all of its own. So the HR-V automatically flashes its hazard lights to alert those to your rear. When VSA is activated, Motion Adaptive Electric Power Steering (MAEPS) automatically adjusts steering pressure, making it easier to steer in the stabilising direction. Customisable speed alarm It’s easy to get swept up in the adventure. So set the speed alarm at whichever top speed you choose and the HR-V will provide a visual and audible alert if that limit is ever exceeded. With normal view, top-down view and a special wide view, you’ll always be covered. Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) Parking sensors Slip in or out of tight spots with ease thanks to the HR-V’s front and rear parking sensors. These sound a helpful alert to let you know how much space exists between you and the nearest object. Standard on the VTi-L. So wherever you’re seated, you’ll feel that much safer in the HR-V. Tyre Deflation Warning System (DWS) Pedestrian protection Be alerted long before it becomes an issue. The Deflation Warning System (DWS) keeps track of the pressure in all four tyres and reports to you if one is getting low. It’s not just your safety Honda has considered. With smart design features that absorb energy or break away under pressure, a pedestrian has a greater chance of survival if struck. Hill Start Assist (HSA) HSA prevents ’rolling back’ when starting on an incline. The system controls brake pressure, keeping the car stationary as you release the brake pedal and prepare to accelerate. Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) The HR-V comes armed with ABS for superior stopping power. When emergency braking is detected Brake Assist applies maximum braking pressure whilst EBD monitors and adjusts the brake force on each wheel. Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Traction Control In adverse driving conditions, the HR-V is able to detect oversteer or understeer, and automatically adjust its path for stability and safety. Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS)^ Honda’s Advanced Driver Assist System is an optional package of incredibly clever safety features that could make all the difference if the worst was to happen. Honda has worked tirelessly to ensure the safest and most comfortable driving experience no matter the situation. Nothing demonstrates this endless search for safety more than the addition of City-Brake Active System* and the Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS)^. City-Brake Active System (CTBA)* ADAS includes: - Lane Departure Warning (LDW) - Forward Collison Warning (FCW) - High-Beam Support System (HSS) Lane Departure Warning (LDW) The reason we call them accidents is that we don’t expect them to happen. City-Brake Active System is Honda’s way of minimising the impact of an unavoidable collision at low-speed on city streets. The result is less damage to the car and better protection for everyone inside. Imagine if your car could read the road. Well, now it can. With a camera designed to identify lane markings, the driver is alerted any time the car begins to stray out of its lane without the turn signal engaged. By alerting the driver with visual and audible warnings, a side-on collision can be easily prevented. 1. A laser sensor mounted behind the rear-view mirror monitors if there is a vehicle in front of you. Forward Collision Warning (FCW) By monitoring your speed and the closing distance of the vehicle in front of you, Forward Collision Warning is able to alert you in advance to a possible collision when travelling above approximately 15km/h. 2. If a potential collision is determined the system will alert the driver with audible and visual warnings. When a collision is deemed unavoidable, the system will automatically apply hard braking and reduce its speed. High-Beam Support System (HSS) Your car doesn’t just read the road – it can also read the oncoming traffic. This allows the headlight beams to adjust automatically as the environment changes. So you can stop worrying about who’s coming the other way and concentrate on the drive in front of you. *Standard on the VTi-S and above. City-Brake Active System operates when the vehicle is travelling at approximately less than 32km/h. City-Brake Active System should not be used in place of safe driving practices.
