Start by choosing from two engines and three suspensions. Then suit your mood at any moment with five drive modes and a 9-speed transmission — the most in its class, for even more fun. What’s the perfect day for driving? Is it Saturday, when you can find a winding country road and commune with nature rather than commute to work? Is it when the SLC’s eager, playful spirit makes a Monday feel like it’s still Sunday? Maybe it’s the first day of Spring, when top - down equals mood- up, as you and the sunshine get reacquainted. Then again, it could be that cool Autumn day when other roadsters start going into hibernation, but your SLC begs you to stay out and play a little longer. Truth is, the SLC is a sports car that can make any day feel far from everyday. Its performance may be rooted in a rich heritage, but it’s also a fast route to the future. Beneath the hood’s wide power domes, an advanced powerplant is eager to pour out its power from the moment you tap into the throttle. The turbocharged inline - 4 in the SLC 300 generates all 273 lb-ft of its peak torque starting at just 1,300 rpm — rushing you from 0 to 60 in just 5.8 seconds.4 That’s not all it does quickly. Its rapid-multispark ignition can fire each spark plug four times in the span of a single combustion cycle, while the high-pressure “piezoelectric” Direct Injection atomizes fuel into a super- fine, instantly variable spray. The V6 biturbo engine in the Mercedes - AMG SLC 43 is deeply infused with AMG enhancements, from higher turbo boost and fuel-injection pressure to ultralow-friction NANOSLIDE® cylinder walls — a patented process that AMG developed for Formula 1® racecars. You’ll feel the benefits even quicker than its 4.6- second sprint to 60. With nine speeds, the new 9G -TRONIC transmission offers a wider span of gear ratios, but narrows the steps in between. It’s an ideal match for the robust torque output of either SLC engine. Instead of a “sweet spot” on the tachometer, you can savor its response across a range of rpm — and enjoy up to 32 highway mpg5 in the SLC 300. AMG programming quickens the SLC 43’s response even further, especially in the paddle - shifted Manual mode. New DYNAMIC SELECT lets you choose any of five drive modes. One button adapts the throttle mapping, shift points, steering, exhaust and more — from Comfort to Sport+ to a customizable Individual program. There’s a mode to suit every mood, and make them all more fun. RADIANT STYLE TAILORED FIT Born to a long line of icons, the SLC leads the MercedesBenz sports car family into a fresh new era. In the SLC 300’s grille, 219 hexagonal pins radiate from its central Star. With the Sport Package or on the AMG SLC 43, each pin is tipped in glistening chrome. Paired with athletic AMG body styling, the “diamond block” grille catches the sun while you do the same from the cockpit. A number of exterior details can also be finished in Gloss Black with either model’s Night Package. To further match your car to your style — and your driving style, too — both models offer four choices in alloy wheels, as well as a spectrum of paint colors in gloss and matte finishes. Besides performance, it’s likely that nothing defines a pure sports car like its two -seat cockpit. It’s here where the SLC extends a tradition of classic roadsters by wrapping modern luxury and style in time-treasured craftsmanship. The twin sport seats are deeply bolstered and power-adjustable. Each seat incorporates a 3-position memory, with the settings for the side mirrors and 4 -way power steering column included for the driver. Upholstery is exactingly double-topstitched and fitted by hand. And to help maintain your comfort and its own supple style, the available leather or Nappa leather is specially treated to reflect sunlight and resist its ravages. L EGEN DA RY IN ITS LINES CLASSIC COCKPIT A DVA N C E D C O N T R O L S The SLC is engineered to unite three dimensions at once. As an open roadster, it lets you touch the sky. As a pure sports car, it embraces the road. And as a Mercedes-Benz, it fosters a deep bond between itself and you, its driver. Every cockpit control is designed and laid out with your eyes, touch and driving focus clearly in mind. Crisp analog gauges flank a 4.5" color screen offering illustrated menus and useful readouts. Shift paddles let you change gears with your hands on the steering wheel. It’s a racing -inspired flat-bottom wheel, too — hand-stitched in Nappa leather. The SLC 43 also offers an AMG Performance steering wheel with DINAMICA side grips. Pure does not mean simplistic in the SLC. It’s brimming with advanced technology to keep you entertained, informed and connected to your world. But comprehensive never means complicated in a Mercedes -Benz, either. The 7" color central screen is clear and vivid, even in sunlight. And its central controller makes it easy to use, with intuitive turn-and-click operation that matches the on-screen menus. The electronic selector for the new 9G -TRONIC transmission is elegant in both appearance and function. A sculpture of aluminum and embossed leather, its design intrigues your eye yet feels instantly natural in your hand, in genuine sports -car style. LUMINOUS IN EVERY CURVE ENLIGHTENED CHASSIS INTELLIGENT LIGHTING Just like its advanced powerplants, quick precision is also the theme of the SLC chassis. The 4-wheel multilink suspension is tuned expressly to each model, with standard sport tuning or an optional adjustable suspension on the SLC 300. AMG components and calibration make the track-tuned SLC 43 eager to take on curves and cones. Its options include AMG RIDE CONTROL6 and an AMG Handling Package with a limitedslip differential. Every SLC’s staggered-width wheels and tires1 team up with Torque Vectoring Brake — a feature that helps shift torque to the outside wheel in a curve, so you can conquer corners with greater confidence, control and fun. The SLC shines even when the sun doesn’t. By day, while its fresh new design draws admiring eyes its way, standard LED Daytime Running Lamps catch the attention of approaching motorists. Safety with style, after all, is a Mercedes -Benz tradition. When darkness falls — even in a long tunnel or dim parking garage — new active LED headlamps* emit brighter, whiter light that’s perceived more like natural daylight. The headlamps swivel their beams into curves as you steer, and automatically adapt their beams to shine as far down the road as possible without creating glare for other drivers.
